Level 1 compliance with PCI DSS requirements shows commitment to security operations for clients that collect payment card data.
Scottsdale, Ariz. – April 28, 2020 – vCORE Technology Partners has achieved Level 1 compliance with the global PCI Data Security Standard (DSS), a certification that demonstrates the IT firm’s unwavering commitment to information security.
For a growing number of clients who trust vCORE to manage part or all of their IT operations – ranging from run/maintain services to patching, 24×7 monitoring, and cloud management – the announcement brings confidence that vCORE meets global requirements for protecting sensitive financial data and follows a comprehensive security management program.
As of March 11, vCORE is now PCI-DSS 3.2.1 certified for Level 1 compliance with a service provider designation. Level 1 is the highest level of compliance, covering merchants with more than 6 million credit card transactions per year.
The PCI standard outlines 12 requirements that merchants or service providers have to meet. Some of those include:
- Installing and maintaining a firewall configuration to protect cardholder data
- Encrypting transmission of cardholder data across open, public networks
- Protecting all systems against malware and regularly updating antivirus software or programs
- Regularly testing security systems and processes
- Maintaining a policy that addresses information security for all personnel
As a service provider, vCORE received the PCI report on compliance and associated attestation of compliance after being assessed by MegaplanIT (Qualified Security Assessment Company, which is a leading Security and Compliance consulting firm authorized to conduct PCI-DSS assessments).
“As enterprises across all industries face greater cyber risk and liability for protecting customer data, security companies need to demonstrate that they have thorough, multi-layered security controls and processes in place to prioritize critical data protection,” vCORE Founder/CEO Steve Leavitt said. “Maintaining a secure environment for our customers is one of our highest priorities, because we help protect them where they are the most vulnerable.”
PCI DSS is the global data security standard adopted by the payment card brands for all entities that process, store or transmit cardholder data. As a Technology Services Provider, vCORE demonstrated its compliance with PCI-DSS, which can be easily referenced for any contract needs, compliance audits or third party service provider due diligence reviews.
Last month, vCORE announced it has been recognized for a third straight year as one of North America’s “Elite 150” managed services providers by industry analysts at CRN.
vCORE IT Operations as a Service capabilities include cloud operations, enterprise NOC services, systems management and optimization, identity management, Office 365, and more. The company provides 24/7/365 monitoring from a U.S.-based, highly-secure Enterprise Operations Center.
